What are short links?
Short links are the core object in Jawwws Bytes.
A link has a destination URL and a shorter Bytes URL that you can share online, in emails, on social posts, or behind a QR code.
Common link actions
- Create a link
- Add a readable slug
- Edit the destination
- Activate or deactivate a link
- Copy the short URL
- Download or use the QR code
- View link analytics
Active and inactive links
Active links can be used and will redirect visitors to the destination URL.
Inactive links stay in your workspace but do not behave as live shareable links.
Use inactive links when you want to prepare something ahead of time or pause something without deleting it.
Link safety
Bytes checks every destination URL for safety before a short link is created or updated.
Links pointing to known malicious sites, phishing pages, or malware are blocked automatically. If a destination is flagged, the link will not be created and you will be told why.
This applies every time you create a new link or change the destination of an existing one.
